Looking at Art:

Picasso has been a hero of mine for a long time. The incredible innovation in his work sparked changes for the entire art world. However, his treatment of the women in his life was notoriously horrible. Do you think that his behavior should affect his reputation as an artistic genius?  The Brooklyn Museum has an exhibition pairing Picasso’s art with that of famous women artists. The exhibition is narrated by an Australian feminist comedian named Hannah Gadsby. The show should be interesting

 Work in the Studio:

Picasso is one of the sculptors who has influenced my 3D work. Cubism, with the pronounced edges and changing values within the shapes has suggested painting options for my own sculpture. Colors which dominate Cubism are often neutral, brown, black and gray. The piece shown here is neutral in color. My intention was to bring out the edges within the piece and emphasize the surface texture.
