Looking at Art:

The filmmaker, Jean Luc Godard said: “Art is not a reflection of reality, it is the reality of a reflection.” Is it the artist’s role to make sense of that refection, or at the very least to get us to have a response to the world that is in our mind and all around us?

Work in the Studio:

As I recover from major surgery, I have become very thoughtful. The overwhelming experience of giving my body over to doctors, nurses and the hospital staff was eye-opening. As vulnerable as I have been, the great surprise has been the wonderful community of family and friends who have provided help is so many loving ways. The painting shown here is my attempt to show the strong feelings that have emerged from the experience. It is called, It takes a Village.
